Crunchy treat for snacks, sides or finger food for entertaining.
PREP time 20 min., COOK time 25 min. Serves 4 – 5
- 12 Asparagus spears
- 6 rashers thinly sliced streaky bacon
- Chives or other herbs to garnish
STEP 1. Choose medium to large asparagus – not baby ones. Trim the spears and blanch by pouring boiling water over.
STEP 2. Slice bacon rashers lengthwise in two. Wrap each asparagus in a strip of raw bacon and secure with a toothpick.
STEP 3. Place all together on griddle or baking tray. Put in hot oven 190°C and bake for 20 – 25 minutes.
STEP 4. Remove from oven and rest for 5 minutes then serve.
